Mark; the one time failure who wrote the first ever Gospel

Mark's is the first book ever written to call itself a "Gospel" -- "Good News".

So who was Mark? The first time we meet him, he is running away in terror at Gethsemane. He accompanied Paul and Barnabas on the first missionary journey but went home when things got tough. Yet he wasn't for ever written off as a total failure, for Paul later asked for his help in Rome, and he was to be the one to write down Peter's memories of all that Jesus taught and did.
